July School Holidays

Thinking about something different for the upcoming school holidays? Instead of heading south to the snow or North to Queensland, why not stay in Sydney and come to the Northern Beaches. There are plenty of great beaches to see and places to go to. It is very different at this time of year.

Imagine walking along Palm Beach and being the only person on the Beach! At this time of year it happens. Also look out and watch the whales swim by from one of the headlands. The Dolphins are around most morning surfing the waves at the beaches. Just a great time to be around. Light a log fire, go out to dinner at one of the local cafes or just catch up with friends for a weekend away.

There are still some great houses available for the school holidays so make the most of the winter rates and come and have a great family holiday – the prices will amaze you for the houses. It is more expensive to stay in a Hotel than it is to rent a house at this time of year and you get so much more for your dollar as well.

Long weekend……

What a fantastic Long weekend just passed…..Not the normal weekend weather wise but it made it even more enjoyable. Wet and windy conditions made for the perfect winter getaway with a roaring log fire in the background and curled up on the sofa with a good booking and watching the wooly surf and wild ocean…..a perfect getaway winter’s weekend.

Some of the houses that had fire places are here below and are always available for weekend getaways if you are thinking of other weekends to get away for in winter.

So if you want to escape to a magical winters destination with your favourite people and some good books, a few bottles of your favourite drink and some fire wood for the log fires, come and see what we can provide for you.

Summer in Palm Beach and the Northern Beaches

What a fantastic summer it has been on the Northern Beaches. Christmas Day was superb – 25 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. Boxing Day…..Perfect summer weather. The holiday period between Christmas and New Years Day was one of the best in the last few years with spectacular weather and temps in the mid to high 20’s every day. This is what I call Beach weather. There were plenty of people around enjoying all the spoils of the beaches…..There was even a few days of good surf as well which was enjoyed by all. The water temperature continued to rise and is currently around 24 degrees making a daily swim a must!

For those wanting to make the most of the summer, February is a great time to get away and have a weekend relaxing whilst everyone is back at work and the kids are at school. Look through the website and see if any houses catch your eye. I know I have my favourites for weekends and there are still available houses with pools as well.

Enjoy the rest of summer and hopefully I will see you all around the beaches over the coming weeks!

My 5 Favourite shops in the Northern Beaches

Here is a list of my 5 favourite shops in the area. Tell me what you like as well.

1. Beach without Sand surf Shop. Wato and the crew are always on hand to help out with anything that you need for a great day out.

2. The Boat House at Palm Beach. Now this is a great casual place to soak up the sun’s rays and enjoy a great meal.

3. The Healthy Chef Avalon. What a great Breakfast they put on…..and it is really healthy as well!

4. Swell Cafe Avalon. I can’t keep my wife out of here! I feel like I have shares in the business. They make the best coffee around.

5. Palm Beach Wine Co. They have a great selection of everything gourmet from wines to spreads. Well worth a visit.

Winter School Holidays

We are now half way through the winter school holidays and there are some great houses still available for rent for the 2nd half of the holidays.

Thinking about a last minute getaway? Wanting a house with a nice outdoor spa or heated swimming pool or you want to rug up in front of the fire place, then it is not too late to grab a house for next week.

Classic Careel and Pittwater Paradise have great open wood fireplaces and Tangala has a magical heated spa and pool off the cabana. Or maybe you just want to sit back in the HUGE home theatre and enjoy a movie or watch the world cup final on a 4m screen.

5 of the best things to do in Palm Beach and the Northern Beaches this Winter

Winter is fast approaching and what a great time to get away for a romantic weekend away. With great specials on the houses over winter, there is no better time to experience the northern beaches of Sydney. Here are 5 of the best things to do in the area this winter

1 – Take a morning walk along Palm Beach. Rug up with your favourite coat and and experience the beach with no one on it! Relax with a hot coffee in hand and watch the surfers in the surf or stroll to the far end of the beach and see Palm Beach from a different angle

2 – Snuggle up in front of a roaring log fire in one of the holiday houses on a wintery weekend night with your favourite book or movie on the TV. Rockridge, Sunrise over Whale or Kookaburra are just a few houses to name that have log fire places and take weekend rentals.

3 – Breakfast at The Healthy Chef on a Sunday morning in Avalon. You will get one of the best breakfasts in the area knowing that it is all good for you as well.

4 – Have a meal at the Boat House in Palm Beach. Watch the Sea Plane come in and take off as it flies around the Northern Beaches. Take a stroll along the beach after lunch or just watch the sun set over West Head.

5 – Visit Barrenjoey Light House and look at one of the best views in Sydney. It is open on the first Sunday of every month and entry is by donation. Remember to take a water bottle with you and a camera to remember the occasion.
